The IV Symposium “Light in the Museum and Heritage Care” will be held from August 28 to 30, 2024, at the Department of Lighting, Light, and Vision of the National University of Tucumán, Argentina.
Supported by the ILAV (Institute of Research in Light, Environment, and Vision UNT-CONICET), this triennial event, which began in 2015, has established itself as an essential forum for discussing the preservation of collective memory and cultural heritage through the magic of lighting in museums.
This year, we are thrilled with the invitation extended to Pascal Chautard to join the panel of speakers and presenters. Pascal will deliver a lecture on practices and innovations in the field of museum lighting. His passion focuses on how lighting can transform the perception of exhibition spaces and significantly contribute to the preservation of heritage objects.
The main themes of the symposium include “Museum Heritage,” “Exhibition Spaces,” and “Communication and Management in the Museum in the Current Context.” These topics will be explored by renowned experts such as Gaël de Guichen, Celina Hafford, Gabriel Miremont, Raúl D’amelio, Fernanda Carvalho, Oli Alonso, Carla Coluccio, and Silvana Zamora, who will share their knowledge and experiences.
The symposium is open to scientists, professionals, students, and entrepreneurs interested in management, research, and education related to museums. The IV LEEM 2024 promises to be a vibrant platform for reflection and dialogue on the challenges and opportunities in exhibiting and conserving cultural heritage for future generations.
