The Pereira Palace, designed in 1872 by Lucien Hénault, was acquired by the Chilean State in 2011 for its restoration and the construction of a new building. Today it houses offices of the Ministry of Cultures and the Arts.

The architectural proposal incorporated the condition of ruin as part of the building’s identity, while the lighting sought to reveal it with subtlety. In the cross gallery, the walls act as diffusers, highlighting textures and creating a warm, comfortable light. Indirect lighting from the cornices predominates, enhancing ceilings and details, while contemporary luminaires provide functionality without altering the original architecture.
