This museum preserves collections spanning from the Paleoindian period to the Diaguita culture. The museographic script proposes a narrative that values cultural diversity and the different ways of inhabiting the territory.
The lighting project aimed to create a bright and welcoming atmosphere, avoiding a cavern-like feeling, while highlighting the museum’s new visual identity. An integrated system was designed for display cases and open spaces, organizing the pieces hierarchically and creating dynamic scenes through six adjustable layers of light.
In the Diaguita space, a one-minute lighting cycle recreates the passage of a full day, with color temperature variations that bring hyperrealistic figures to life.
The combination of the different lighting systems offers a balanced and immersive experience that enhances materiality and allows visitors to connect with the depth of time and the identity of the territory.
